Things have been a little out of control at my house since the first of the year. My eighty-five-year-old father came to live with my husband and me at the end of February. He has dementia and has progressed to the point of needing constant care.
After several weeks and hours of filling out papers and gathering the necessary documents needed to get him into a facility, we feel very blessed to have him settled in a wonderful state veterans’ nursing home only about an hour from our house.
The best part is he really likes it there. He tells us every time we visit (two or three times a week), “This is not a bad place to be if you have to be some place.” You can’t imagine what a relief it is that he feels that way.
The same day Dad came to live with me, I got word that I’d sold a sweet romance (FINDING KATY) to Belle Bridge Books. It will be released in October, 2013. I hope to make it a series which takes place on a guest ranch in Georgia.
Now that life has settled down somewhat, I’ll be updating my newsletter and my blog, Blame it on the Paste regularly. So, check back often for news, contests, pictures.
What are you reading? Let me know. I'd love to hear from you.
